The Peace Symbol was created in 1958 for the Committee for Nuclear Disarmament in Great Britain. It has become the universal symbol of peace, embraced and understood in every culture. It is a combination of the semaphores for the letters "N" and "D", standing for "Nuclear Disarmament." The peace sign jewelry offered by From War to Peace is the first time that the Peace Symbol of nuclear disarmament is actually created from disarmed and recycled nuclear weapons. Originally designed by Gerald Holtom. Each pendant is 3/4" tall by 5/8" wide and weighs 1 gram. All of our peace jewelry is made from Peace Bronze - Jewelry from recycled and disarmed nuclear missile systems. If you're buying a cheap peace symbol made in china, it doesn't carry the same meaning as the Peace Bronze peace symbol.
